Awards
Silver for Out-Of-Home, Caples Awards
In collaboration with Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne, we created an incredible world-first interactive experience for Bank of Melbourne. The installation seamlessly illustrated the ease of mobile banking via the age-old tradition of tossing a coin in a wishing well. The Digital Wishing Well installation went on to win Silver for Out-Of-Home at the Caples Awards.
Working closely with the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) we transformed their iconic water fountain into a beautiful digital wishing well. The interactive water projections allowed users to make a wish on their mobile, and with a flick of their wrist, toss a digital coin into the water. As the digital coins sank to the bottom of the motte they transformed into mystical animated artworks which went on to live in the wishing well. For every digital coin thrown into the water, Bank of Melbourne made a donation to support the Gallery’s digital education initiatives.
Under my direction, all ancient artworks from NGV’s collection were re-drawn by hand by the very talented Cecily Kuoc. The artworks were recreated to be a true representation of the ancient artworks on display at NGV and were then colourised for projections. Following this, they were recreated in 3D and animated with natural movement. The pond was dynamic so it was important the animations be created in a way that allowed for this.
